Vicky Uslé
Vicky Uslé, 1981, Santander
Her work, open and transcendent, questions and celebrates the possibilities and uncertainties of the medium, passionately and intelligently illustrating the essential qualities of painting and its construction, its beauty and impossibility.
Each of her brushstrokes is an exercise in courage, a link and at the same time a representation, a constructive and questioning vehicle, in a substantial and open space, in continuous displacement. Painting as architecture of things and worlds, from its own organic and substantial consistency, from its formation, its germ and its ruins, from a solid commitment to "the most difficult image of art".
With a degree in Fine Arts from the Rhode Island School of Design (Providence, USA), she lives and works between New York and Cantabria. Canvas and paper are mainly the chosen mediums through which she develops her painting.
