Bodies, Memory and Technology: From the Cyborg to the Chthulucene in the Queer Revolution.
This year’s stand explores the ideas of Donna Haraway and José Esteban Muñoz, establishing a dialogue between Haraway’s Cyborg Manifesto, her concept of the Chthulucene, and Muñoz’s queer utopia. It challenges the traditional dichotomies between the human and the technological, the human and the animal, nature and culture, suggesting coevolutionary futures where beings of different natures coexist. The queer utopia, in turn, proposes an inclusive horizon where identities and bodies transcend social norms. Carlos Sáez, with his transhumanist works, imagines a future where bodies transcend the boundaries of gender and civil rights, merging the human with the digital. Eli Cortiñas, on the other hand, investigates the consciousness of artificial beings and how technology reinforces human prejudices, opening the path to alternative futures. Diego del Pozo Barriuso recovers the LGTBI+ memory of Terrassa, combining activism and art to preserve the history of the community. Carmen Ortiz Blanco, through minimal installations, gives form to the intangible and the invisible, inviting the viewer into a sensory experience. Finally, Carles Congost, through figures such as Jimmy Somerville, addresses pop culture and activism, exploring the tensions between identity and social violence.
