Desiring Assemblages
This exhibition forms the first chapter of this project, in which an intergenerational story is presented that covers more than half a century of artistic practices, all generated from non-normative affective sensibilities. The itinerary seeks to confront us with dichotomous readings, the problem would not reside in a redefinition of the limits but in a demarcation that questions the dynamics of power, violence and submission that have been normalized within a heteronormative and patriarchal structure. The search for coexistence between artists of different generations, who have shaped their identity in different historical and social contexts, as well as the demand for the need to build narratives, has allowed research in which to attend to diversity and generate spaces of identification or difference in which to dismantle the naturalization of control mechanisms. This project seeks to appeal to the self and how its relationships with the environment are constituted while asking what and who educated our desires.
